Once again, my posting has been a bit…lagging, recently. Now that classes are done for the summer I’ll do my best to post more regularly! I really need to get some book tags done. However, I have been reading quite a bit. Right now I’m almost finished with the second book in the Beautiful Monsters series by Jex Lane, Sire. I stumbled upon this series last week and after reading the first book, Captivefell in love. This has quickly become one of my favorite MxM series. It is intended for mature audiences, so yes there is sexy time in these books as well as a good deal of violence, but the action, the characters, the overall plot – it’s all fantastic!

My teaser:

When Matthew opened the door to his underground room, club music assaulted his ears. Inside, Samantha danced to the beat and Devak moved right along with her.
They looked completely ridiculous, but neither of them seemed to give a shit. They were just enjoying the rhythm and moving their bodies along with the pounding unch, unch, unch.

Teaser Tuesdays #55 – April 25th

Ughhhh, I haven’t posted in forever. Forgive me!!! >.< Life’s been rather hectic these past two months with spring break, my whole family being sick or having surgery (or both) and then my sister’s wedding on top of that. But I only have one more week of classes until summer break. I am so freakin’ happy! As usual, I hope to be more active during the summer months but, unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen…^^;

I finally got around to starting the thirteenth and final book in The Hollows series by Kim Harrison, The Witch With No Name. It took me long enough to begin reading it and I have to admit it’s been a bit slow going. I keep getting distracted by other things. But I will finish it! Sooner rather than later, I’m hoping.

My teaser:

The sound of the water through the open windows echoed my intent as I sat cross-legged atop the slate counter within a protective pentagram and carefully etched an ever-smaller spiral into the bottom of the tiny bottle. I barely breathed, my entire world cycled down to the golden glow of glass and the thin tracing of silver flowing from the stylus.

I’m still plugging away at re-reading one of my favorite series! I just started the third book in The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, Grave Peril.

My teaser:

Distantly, but quickly growing nearer, I could hear haunting, musical baying, ghostly in the midnight air. “Holy shit,” I breathed. “Hellhounds.”
“Harry,” Michael said sternly. “You know I hate it when you swear.”
“You’re right. Sorry. Holy shit,” I breathed, “heckhounds.”

I recently decided I wanted to re-read one of my favorite series. I’ve been bugging one of my friend’s to read it, then got in the mood myself. So, I started the first book in The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, Storm Front.

My teaser:

Paranoid? Probably. But just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean that there isn’t an invisible demon about to eat your face.

I started the fifth book in the THIRDS series by Charlie Cochet, Against the Grain. I’m actually almost done with it. This series is hilarious and action-packed and I love it.

Cael patted Ash’s chest and walked off. Ash followed, but not before shoving Dex. He grinned when Dex fell into Taylor, his cheese snacks soaring through the air and hitting the carpet.
“My Cheesy Doodles!” Dex dropped to his hands and knees. “Noooooo! They were so young. So delicious.”
Cael shook his head in amusement. “You couldn’t help yourself, could you?” he told Ash.
“I need balance in my life.”

Teaser Tuesdays #51 – January 17th

I apologize for my lack of activity for the past couple of weeks. We finally moved into our new house and didn’t have WiFi for awhile. I don’t like posting from my phone so I just thought I’d wait to post anything until our connection was up. And it is now! Yippee! However, school has started up once again so I also apologize in advance if my blog is silent for awhile. But I’ll do my best to at least do my two weekly posts.

I recently started The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. I just finished up the first book last night and am about to start the second one, The Dream Thieves.

A secret is a strange thing.
There are three kinds of secrets. One is the sort everyone knows about, the sort you need at least two people for. One to keep it. One to never know.

I am currently reading the twelfth book in the Hollows series by Kim Harrison, The Undead Pool. I’ve been seriously zooming through this book. I’d say I’m about halfway done and I just started it the other day.

My teaser:

Tulpa was a sweet, biddable horse, and I gave the old stallion a little pat as Trent came up beside us. Both horses shunned the tall, whispering grass, already having sampled it to find it as distasteful as everything else in the ever-after. The harsh landscape had a dusky red sheen, the nearly full moon nearing the western horizon. It was just shy of midnight and we’d been riding for hours.

I am currently reading the second book in The Half Bad Trilogy by Sally Green, Half Wild. I’ve been in the mood to read this series for awhile and just picked up the first book the other day. I almost read the entire thing in a few hours, but then sleep became somewhat of a priority. I finished it up yesterday and started the second one this morning. I’m really liking this series, if you couldn’t tell.

My teaser:

There’s movement below me, a black figure partly hidden by the forest. Then there’s a grunt. I tread softly but quickly down. The black figure moves away from me and is lost in the trees. Only Hunters can be that fast and quiet – no fain could do that. And I follow.

I am currently reading the eleventh book in the Hollows series by Kim Harrison, Ever AfterI’m getting through this one a bit slower than I thought I would, but I’ve gotten distracted by a few other books at the moment. I’ll share those tomorrow in my WWW post.

My teaser:

“Rachel, would you like to come to tea tomorrow?”
Jenks looked up from his soiled silk jacket, surprise in his angular face. Trent had stood, and I started at how fast it had been. He had a direction, and it changed everything. It was back, the power and certainty were back, and something in me shivered.
“Tea?” Jenks was standing next to the plate of petits fours. “You want to have tea? Are you nerking futs?”
The light caught the tips of his hair as Trent came up to the center counter, the fair strands beginning to float in his excitement. “I know of something you might want to read.”

I am currently reading the fourth book in the THIRDS series by Charlie Cochet, Rise & Fall. I’m enjoying all of the characters in this series more and more with every book.

My teaser:

22714910

“Stop.” Dex’s voice came out shakier than he’d intended. A part of him knew Sloane wouldn’t hurt him, but the other was feeling the sting left behind by Sloane’s claws. Dex forced himself to look at Sloane’s glowing amber eyes. With a shaky hand, he reached out and put it to Sloane’s soft fur. “I know you’re in there somewhere. It’s me. It’s Dex. You remember me, right? The crazy guy who eats Cheesy Doodles and makes you heart-shaped pancakes? Who quotes Indiana Jones moves with you, drives you up the wall with his big-hair-band music and thinks you’re the most amazing guy he’s ever met? Remember him?”
