R.I.P It or Ship It Book Tag

Okay everyone, it’s been awhile since I’ve done a tag. I know there are a few that I’ve been tagged in that need doing, HOWEVER, I’ve seen this one done a few times and it seems like fun! I’ve actually steered away from tags that require you to write down a bunch of characters names…because I’m lazy. That’s pretty much my only reason. Yes, I know. That’s a dumb reason. But I’m sure some of you agree, right? RIGHT?! Ehem. But yes. Moving on.

The Rulez:

  • Write names of book characters on little slips of paper and toss them into some sort of container. There’s no required amount, so however many you want.
  • Pick two of those names out of the container.
  • Either you see those two individuals becoming a lovely couple, or you don’t. Pretty simple, yeah?

Let’s go!

Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket) & Citra Terranova (Scythe)

Hmmm…this is such an interesting pair. Tohru is so sweet and innocent, I’m not too sure if Citra would be able to handle her. I feel like she wouldn’t be able to put up with Tohru’s ditsy-ness, to be honest. But I also feel like I can totally picture Citra coming home and Tohru cooking her a nice meal after a long day of gleaning people.  You know what, I’m going to go with…

SHIP IT.

Citra needs some innocence in her life.

Eliot “Eli” Cardale (Vicious) & Tessa Gray (Infernal Devices)

Noooo. I wanted to put Eli in the mix because I saw so many people put Victor. But him with Tessa? Just…no. There’s no way Tessa would put up with Eli’s superior bullshit. She would definitely put him in his place. And he’d probably try to kill her for it. So, coming to that conclusion, I’m going to…

RIP IT.

Ryan Foxheart (Tales From Verania) & Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

Although Ryan would prefer a certain wizard over a witch, I can actually see this ship sailing. Both characters are smart and great to have along during any sort of shenanigan they’re thrown into, although Hermione would most likely disapprove. I could also picture Hermione telling Ryan to stop posing, as he is wont to do, and him just getting all flustered about it. I really think they’d be adorable together. And with that, I’d…

SHIP IT.

Will Herondale (Infernal Devices) & Nita (Not Even Bones)

This is such an interesting pair. And I like it! Both characters seem to have issues with their moral compass at times, but ultimately they are decent people that simply get thrown into shitty situations and will do what they must to survive. Nita dissects supernatural creatures, and Will hunts them. If that doesn’t say power couple, I don’t know what does. Although, Nita likes her peace and quiet so having Will around constantly blabbing away may get on her nerves. But still. I’d…

SHIP IT.

The Jackal (Red Rising) & Sam Haversford (Tales From Verania)

No. No no no no no. Not happening. I can’t say too much about the Jackal, because of spoilers and all that, but this is definitely a ship that would not sail. It would sink so, so fast. Now, them facing off as enemies. That, I could see. But them as a couple? Bleh. Sam can do sooooo much better. Let me go ahead and…

RIP IT.

Image result for kill it with fire meme

Sevro au Barca (Red Rising) & Inej Ghafa (Six of Crows)

Another interesting pair! Both characters can be ruthless killers and know how to get the job done. Although, I feel like Sevro would be a bit too…eccentric for Inej’s tastes. He’s such an odd little bean. That’s why he’s one of my favorites. This one’s hard. I can see them possibly becoming friends, if anything. But romantic partners? I’m going to have to say…

RIP IT.

Image result for rip image

Harry Potter (Harry Potter) & Darrow (Red Rising)

Yes, yes, I’ve picked quite a few Red Rising characters. But hey, I’m right in the middle of the third book. They’re on my mind. ANYWAY. Harry and Darrow. Well that’s…I need to say something besides interesting. BUT IT IS. So much so. They’re both great protagonists that unwillingly get thrust into leadership roles at some point. They could bond over essentially having everything revolve around them, but not necessarily in a good way. I dig it. Or in other words, I…

SHIP IT.

Image result for i ship it

Karen Murphy ( Dresden Files) & Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter)

No. Just no. Karen’s such an amazingly badass woman. There’s no way she’d put up with Draco for even a second – she already has her hands full with one wizard as it is. Karen would verbally tear Draco apart in just a few words and Draco would be like “My father will hear about this!” And Karen would pull a Hermione and punch him in the face, if not worse. I’m going to…

RIP IT.

And that’s that! So many unique pairings! That was bunches of fun. I’ll definitely have to do more tags like this in the future. If you found this tag amusing, DO IT. And let me know!

Happy reading! :)

My Bookish Identity Book Tag

Image result for who am i?

I was tagged by the lovely Arachnid Weaver @ TheWebWeavers for this tag! I’ve been on the quiet side this past month and I’m hoping this fun tag will get me a little more active! xD

What Dystopian/Fantastical World Would You Want to Live In?

Image result for hogwartsThis is always a difficult question – there are so many worlds out there that I would love to live in, if not visit! I’m sure I’m right there with a bunch of people when I say I would want to live in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Cause, how could you not?

Who Would Your Partner Be?

Image result for harry dresden

This is another tough one, at least for me. I like a bunch of characters, but I don’t really have a main one I would really want to partner up with. Well, at least not one that’s straight (that’s what I get for reading so much M/M… heh ^^;). But, if I really had to pick, I’d say Harry Dresden from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. He’s an amazingly bad-ass wizard with a sarcastic attitude that could handle my own.

Who Would Be Your Godly Mother/Father [Percy Jackson]? (Quiz)

I guess Arachnid and I are sisters! xD I also got Hades! Unfortunately I have yet to read the Percy Jackson books, but I do plan on doing so one day!

Would You Be a Downworlder or Nephilim [Shadowhunter World]? (Quiz)

Shadowhunter

I got Shadowhunter! I would have been fine with either, but I’m glad this means I can pal around with Jace! ;D

Which Hogwarts House Would You Be In [Harry Potter]?

Image result for gryffindor

Gryffindor! Hells yeah! xD

Which Faction Would You Be In [Divergent]? (Quiz)

Image result for dauntless divergent

I got Dauntless! I haven’t read this series either and am not sure if I’ll ever get around to it…

What Would Be Your Daemon [Northern Lights]? (Quiz)

You got: Cat

You can seem aloof to certain people, but anyone who takes the trouble to get to know the real you will be rewarded. You’re proud of your accomplishments and not afraid to let your abilities shine.

I had some trouble copying the picture, so this will have to do. I would prefer a wolf, but cats are pretty cool too.

And that’s the tag! I’m lazy and will not be tagging anyone, but if anyone is interested in participating go ahead and consider yourself tagged! And let me know if you decide to do it so I can see your results! :)

Anything But Books Tag

Emily tagged me in this tag…back in June, I think it was? Shocker that I’m just now completing it, right? Thanks for the tag, Emmy! <3

Name a cartoon that you love.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is definitely one of my favorites. I watched it back when it first aired on Nickelodeon and instantly fell in love. I would never get tired of watching this series. I enjoyed the sequel series, The Legend of Korra, but not nearly as much as the original.

What is your favorite song right now?

It’s a bit of a tie right now. I just recently heard one of Skillet’s newer songs that was released with their album, Unleashed, last fall. That song would be The Resistance. I’ve also been repeatedly listening to Black Rose by Volbeat. Here’s a video of both if you’re interested. I’ve been listening to a lot of Panic! At The Disco as well and one of my friends recently got me into Mystery Skulls.

What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?

Go hiking. Go camping. Pet my dogs. Cook (I’ve been trying to more recently since I’ll be moving out in the near future). Binge watch TV shows. Play video games.

What is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?

Ughhh, I feel that my followers wouldn’t be surprised by much (is that a good or bad thing…? Heh…). I don’t do anything all that surprising, really. I’m a pretty non-surprising person. #letsmoveon

What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?

Different ways to make Crab Rangoons. I am obsessed with them. I could eat twenty and not feel a drop of regret. There’s a surprising number of ways to make them, including turning it into a dip. Now I want some…*drool*

What is something unusual that you know how to do?

I can’t really think of anything to put here. I feel like nothing is ‘unusual’ anymore, because a lot of people can do a lot of things. I used to be able to do a fairly decent Scottish accent, but I haven’t done it in years and it’s probably not any good anymore.

Name something you made in the last year and show us if you can.

Well, I’m not super crafty or anything, but I made these center pieces for my friend’s bridal shower and I was rather pleased with how they turned out. They’re on the simple side, but it was a pain in the butt to get that black sparkly ribbon to stay put.

What is your most recent personal project?

Well, I tried participating in NaNoWriMo this year and it went about as well as I thought it would, with me being in school and working. Plus helping out with my friend’s wedding. I think I got a whopping 200 something words written. Oh well, I’ll try again some other time. I’ll still be in school next fall, but maybe it’ll happen if I prepare better. We’ll see. I have a lot of story ideas, it just takes a lot of concentration for me to actually sit down and write them out.

Tell us something that you think about often.

Hmm, I’d have to say recently I’ve been thinking a lot about moving out. I plan on renting a house with some friends and we’re going to start looking in the next month or two. I’m nervous yet super excited at the same time. Adulting sucks, but you gotta do it sometime. It’s also made me think a lot about everything my parents have done for me all these years (cue cheesy ‘awww’).

But seriously. I have some friends that are not in the best family situations and, given every family has its problems, including mine, I’ve still been extremely well off during my time at home. It’ll definitely be weird not being able to run into the other room to tell my mom something real quick. I’ve also been asking my dad to show me how to do a lot of things recently. Like how to change my car battery, put up the Christmas tree, build a fire pit we recently got. I love learning how to do things myself (for the most part). So I’ve been bugging him to show me how to do everything recently. Sure, there’s YouTube, but I think my dad really enjoys showing me this stuff too.

I think the strangest thing will be not having my dogs around. It feels weird having them gone for the whole day when they get groomed, it’s going to be tragic when I don’t see them running to the front door every day when I get home. Or just being able to pet them whenever I feel like it. I do eventually want to adopt a dog, but I’m planning on waiting until I’m done with school and more settled into a career. Since it’s like having a child. And I want many furry children in the future.

…I didn’t mean for this section to get all mushy and personal! xD

Give us something that is your favorite, but make it oddly specific.

The honey mustard sauce from Dairy Queen. Honey mustard is my favorite condiment in the universe – which is weird because I’m not really a fan of mustard or honey – but mixed together…yuuuum. Pure bliss.

Say the first thing that pops into your head.

I should be doing homework right now…

I’m lazy and will not be tagging anyone, but feel free to participate! And if you do, make sure you let me know so that I can read your responses! :D

Hocus Pocus Book Tag

Image result for hocus pocus

I was tagged by The Orangutan Librarian to complete this tag! Thanks a bunch! :D This amazing tag was created by Katie @ Never Not Reading. I absolutely love this movie! This was my childhood. I try to watch it on a yearly basis, but we don’t have cable anymore and it’s been taken off Netflix, so it’s getting harder to do so, unfortunately. I was hoping to get this up on Halloween but obviously that didn’t happen. Oh well.

Rules:

There are no rules. It’s YOUR blog. But if would be nice if you linked back to me, and maybe the person who tagged you too. Share the love folks.

THE SANDERSON SISTERS

A great trilogy.

Related image

I’m going to go with the Captive Prince trilogy by C.S. Pacat. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea – being M/M and having some mature themes – but I absolutely love the character development and the overall plot. I need to reread it in the near future, as well as some short stories the author has come up with since then.

WINIFRED SANDERSON

A book with a truly evil female villain.

Related image

I’m trying not to put Harry Potter (I feel like I do that a lot…^^; It’s not my fault it goes with almost anything!). I’ll choose The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Both Mab, the Faerie Queen of Air and Darkness, and Leanansidhe, Harry’s faerie godmother, are pieces of work. They do some messed up shit to my dear, sweet Harry. Don’t trust faeries.

SARAH SANDERSON

A book that uncannily attracts children.

Related image

Umm, I’m not too sure with this one. I don’t know what the kids are reading nowadays. I feel like most books with talking animals as main characters are usually fairly popular. So I’ll just go with that instead of a specific book.

MARY SANDERSON

A book that is just plain silly.

Image result for hocus pocus gifs

I’m having trouble with this one too. Let’s go with Go the Fuck to Sleep by Adam Mansbach. I haven’t actually read this one but I’ve heard it’s hilarious. It’s supposed to be a parody (kinda?) of a bedtime story you would read to your kids, but it’s meant to relate to parents. I just found a video of Samuel L. Jackson reading the book if you’re interested.

MAX

A book that is trying really hard to be cool, but doesn’t always succeed.

Image result for hocus pocus gifs max

I’m actually going to pick Twilight for this one. Vampires and werewolves: cool, right? A good chunk of the characters in the series and the overall plot? Not so much.

DANI

A book that isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.

Image result for hocus pocus gifs max

I’ll go with Whiskey Sour by J.A. Konrath. I’ve been slowly plugging away at this series and it tells you exactly what serial killers are capable of. It reminds me a lot of Criminal Minds.

BINX

A book series that just won’t die.

binx

I’ll go with the Warriors series by Erin Hunter (haw, so appropriate). I loved reading the books when I was younger, and I’ve still been meaning to read where I left off years ago, but they just won’t stop! There are SO many of them now and I think they’re still going.

ICE

A book with a character that’s dumb as a rock.

Image result for hocus pocus gifs ice

I’m actually going to go with Whiskey Sour again because there are two FBI agents in that series that just…aren’t the brightest. They are so dependent on a computer system to tell them what kind of killer they’re looking for that they don’t use common sense. At all. Ever.

THE BLACK FLAME CANDLE

A book or series you wish you could resurrect.

Related image

I’ll say the Demonata series by Darren Shan. It wasn’t as popular as Shan’s Cirque Du Freak series, but I thought it was just as good.

HEADLESS BILLY BUTCHERSON

A book that’s not so bad as people make it out to be.

Image result for hocus pocus gifs billy

I’m coming up blank on this one. I’d probably say a classic because not a lot of people like being forced to read them in school, but they’re not all that bad. I enjoyed Of Mice and Men and To Kill a Mockingbird.

WINIFRED SANDERSON’S SPELL BOOK

A book with a mind of its own.

spell book

I’m going to agree with Katie on this one and say A Game of Thrones. I feel like it’s mostly because the TV show has gone past where the books are. I know the author still had some say along the way, but I also feel that it strayed from what he originally had planned – mostly due to the wants of the fans.

GARRY MARSHALL

A book with a cameo.

Image result for hocus pocus gifs garry marshall

I’m actually going to copy what The Orangutan Librarian said for this one and go with some of the characters from mythology – Mab, Titania, Erlking, etc. – but in the Dresden Files, which I briefly mentioned earlier.

And that’s that! This was a good tag. I’m lazy and don’t feel like tagging specific people, so if you like this movie or just thought this was a neat tag, consider yourself tagged! Let me know if you participate so I can see your post!

Happy reading! :)

Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag

Image result for zombie apocalypse

I haven’t done a book tag in awhile and I actually remember seeing Analee @ Book Snacks do this tag quite some time ago. I believe it’s the perfect time of year for this type of tag, so why not?! Let’s see if I survive!

Rules:

  • Choose 5 books!
  • Randomly set up your books in order.
  • Flip to a random page in the book and write the first two names you see.
  • Put the names in the categories listed below in the order you saw them!
  • Cry at how screwed you are…

The books I chose:

The first person to die?

Will, Clockwork Princess. Pffft, I highly doubt that. If Will were the first to die none of us would stand a chance in this apocalypse!

The person you trip to get away from the zombies?

Jem, Clockwork Princess. THAT IS A LIE. I WOULD NEVER. I would cut off my own leg before I use it to trip my dear, sweet Jem.

The person that trips YOU to get away from the zombies?

Kevin, The Lightning-Struck Heart. I…could see it. I mean, he’s a dragon so he doesn’t necessarily have to trip me to get away but, he can be a big asshole (in a loving way) so I could still see it.

The first person to turn into a zombie?

Sam, The Lightning-Struck Heart. Noooo, poor Sam! He’s a wizard! Well, a wizard apprentice! I’m sure he could whip something up to save himself! I personally would be extremely sad, however, I feel like some would be happy because they wouldn’t have to listen to his constant rambling for the rest of the apocalypse.  *cough* sorry Sam *cough*

The idiot of the team?

Dex, Hell & High Water. Dex may act like a goofball a good chunk of the time, but he’s actually a really smart guy! If he’s the idiot then we are in some deep shit.

The brains of the team? (haha, brains…)

Ash, Hell & High Water. Sounds about right. Ash has a temper on him, but he’s also really smart! As long as Dex doesn’t talk him to death, I think we might be okay.

The team’s medic?

Matthew, Sire. Hmmm, not sure how I feel about this one. I feel like he would try his best, but he’s a vampire! His methods of healing are…different, than of us mere mortals.

The weapons expert?

Tarrick, Sire. This is actually a great choice. Tarrick’s a badass incubus! He’s not a High Lord General for nothing! He knows his stuff when it comes to weapons. I do believe we stand a chance! Huzzah!

The brawler?

Susan, Fool Moon. Susan is one feisty lady, but she definitely wouldn’t be the first person I would call up in a fight (no offense). She’s a smart one though, so I’m sure she’d be able to handle herself to some extent.

The team leader?

Harry, Fool Moon. Although Harry’s more of a solo kind of guy, he’s a survivor! He could definitely get us through this mess! As long as he doesn’t get us killed with his smartass comments, first. (I’ve noticed a lot of the main characters in the books I read are smartass’…is that saying something? :’D)

Whelp, not a bad team overall. I think I would survive! Maybe. Possibly. Well, I’d have a fun time with these maniacs at least!

I tag:

Please feel free to ignore this if you have already done this tag or if you’re simply not interested! But please let me know if you decide to do it so I can read your answers! :D

Happy Reading! :)

Goodreads Book Tag

Image result for goodreads

Hey there! I haven’t done a tag in awhile and there are quite a few I still need to do but Emily @ Embuhleeliest just tagged me in this one recently so it was what I thought of first. So here we go!

What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?

17378508 Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, the third book in The Raven Cycle series. I just finished up this book last night and cannot wait to see what happens in the fourth and final book! I feel like so much is going to happen. Both things that I want to happen and things that I don’t.

What are you currently reading?

At this exact moment nothing. Like I mentioned above, I finished up Blue Lily, Lily Blue last night and didn’t get around to reading anything today. Shame, I know. I was too busy watching anime, getting things done around the house, and running errands. In that order.

What was the last book you marked as TBR?

16131107The Black Prism by Brent Weeks, the first book in the Lightbringer series. I recently read Emmy’s review on this book and was intrigued! I feel like she’s mentioned this book or this author before but I’m not sure why I never looked into it. Silly me, apparently, because this book definitely sounds like something I would enjoy! Who knows when I’ll actually get around to reading it though, cause I’m terrible like that.

What book do you plan to read next?

17378527The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater, the fourth and final book in The Raven Cycle series. As I said previously, I just finished the third book and now it’s on to the fourth! I’ve rather enjoyed this series and now I’m even more inclined to try out her other one, The Wolves of Mercy Falls, as well, which I’ve heard mixed reviews on. I’ll also get around to doing that eventually.

Do you use the star rating system?

Yup!

Are you doing a 2017 Reading Challenge?

Yes! I did 60 last year and managed so I decided I would again stick with 60 this year and see how well I do. Might not make it this year due to school, but that won’t stop me from trying! Hopefully I’ll get even more. My book list is so long and I keep adding to it, so it seems like I’ll never actually read everything. Especially if I’m only managing 60 a year…*sigh*.

Do you have a wishlist?

Not really. I borrow from the library most of the time so I don’t buy all that many books. I have a list of ones that the library doesn’t have so I guess you could call that my wishlist? But above all else, the newest book in the Dresden Files series would be at the top. Too bad it hasn’t come out yet *cry cry*.

What book do you plan to buy next?

21569527Oh look! My answer is the same as Emmy’s! xD I plan on buying The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson, the second book in The Remnant Chronicles. I buddy read the first book in the series with Emmy and another friend of mine so we’re going to keep going until we read all three! Because we’re doing a buddy read I thought it best if I actually purchase this series so I plan on buying the e-book once we’re ready to start.

Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.

Who are your favorite authors?

Jim Butcher, J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, Kim Harrison and T.J. Klune

Have you joined any groups?

No.  I feel like I have a hard enough time posting on here on a regular basis so that would just make me a bad group member…^^; Maybe one day!

I Tag These Peeps –

If you’ve already done this tag or just don’t want to that’s perfectly fine, of course! xD I also tag anyone else who wants to participate!

Autumn Reading Tag

Image result for fall leaves

Another tag! I was tagged by Emily @ embuhleeliest.  Although autumn is now coming to an end, I am going along with Emmy and being in denial. I do like winter but fall is my favorite season. Plus, it’s still technically fall until mid-December. So there.

1) Are there any books you plan on reading over the Autumn season?

17261190As I mentioned above, it is still technically fall so the book I actually plan on starting next week is the first in The Lotus War series by Jay Kristoff, StormdancerI won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. But now I am and I’m really looking forward to it! Plus reading the next two books as well. If I like the first one. But I probably will. Because I like most things that I read.

2) September brings back to school memories: what book did you most enjoy studying? And what were your favourite and least favourite school subjects?

890This is kind of a tough one for me. I actually didn’t enjoy reading the books we were given in school. I like reading what I want to read, not being told what to read. However, I did enjoy Of Mice and Men to a certain extent. I also read Dracula as well, although my version was not the original – it was a short-hand version so I feel like that’s why I enjoyed it. My least favorite subjects in school were math and science. I mean, I found certain science subjects interesting, but they definitely weren’t my favorite things to study. My favorite subjects lean toward the elective side. I like clay class, art, cooking. Those sort of classes. I actually enjoyed P.E. as well. I’ve never been all that active but I really enjoyed the people in my class.

3) October means Halloween: do you enjoy scary books and films? If so what are some of your favourites?

I haven’t read all that many scary books. I don’t really steer toward horror. I’m also a bit wimpy when it comes to scary movies. I used to refuse watching anything remotely horror, but over the past few years I’ve been more open to trying some out. I don’t really mind watching the gory stuff – it’s the sounds that get me. I could sit there and watch someone’s arm being chopped off as long as I have my ears plugged. It’s weird, I know. One of my favorite book series that fall under the horror genre would be the Demonata seriesby Darren Shan. Those books would be quite disturbing if made into movies, but I was perfectly find with reading them.

4) With November it’s time for bonfire night & firework displays. What’s the most exciting book you’ve read that really kept you gripped?

Fireworks in November? I want to be where that person is. Where I live November is a time to cherish the temperature not being up in the 100’s anymore. And where anything below 60 is cold. xD

This is a tough question. Does it mean the most exciting book I’ve read in general or the most exciting that I’ve read this fall? I’m going to go with the latter. So, the most exciting book I’ve read that really kept me gripped this fall would have to be sixth and final book in the TMI series, City of Heavenly Fireby Cassandra Clare. Mostly because it was the final book and I was really excited to see how things would end. Plus, a lot of stuff happened in that book in general anyway.

5) What book is your favorite cozy comfort read?

The first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. This is my favorite in the series and I’ll never get tired of reading it. I can never get enough of the Harry Potter series and I don’t think that’ll ever change.

6) Curled up with a good book, what is your hot drink of choice?

Coffee. I love hot chocolate as well, but ever since I started drinking coffee I prefer that over any other hot drink.

7) Any plans you’re looking forward to over the next few months?

Winter break. It’s only my first semester back in school after three years and I already want a break. Too bad I still have to work during it. Ugh, life. Other than that I’m looking forward to the holidays! Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! :D Also, we’re moving into a new house within the next month or two! So that’s exciting.

And I’m done! This was a fun tag and I tag whoever wants to participate!

Happy reading! :)

Halloween Book Tag

Image result for halloween

Thanks a bunch, Emily @ embuhleeliest, for tagging me! It’s been so long since I’ve done a book tag…even though I know there’s quite a few that I’ve been tagged in and haven’t gotten around to doing *shame* ^^; I’m pretty sure you even tagged me in this one last year but, obviously, I didn’t get around to doing it.

Carving Pumpkins – What book would you carve up and light on fire?

Hmmm, this is a tough one. I’m going to go with the textbooks I bought this semester that I can’t re-sell because they’re loose-leaf. I won’t need them anymore and they’re big enough to provide a nice fire for a couple of hours at least!

Trick or Treat – Which character is a treat and which is a trick?

24468673Treat: I would have to say Sam Haversford from The Lightening-Struck Heart, by T.J. Klune. I just forced politely asked my good friend to read this book and she fell in love with it just like I did! Sam is such an amazing and funny character! He doesn’t know when to stop talking and everything that comes out of his mouth is freaking hilarious.30264

Trick: Trent Kalamack from the Hollows series by Kim Harrison. He’s actually one of my favorite characters, but everything he does pretty much makes you want to punch him in the face. Although most of the people in the book think well of him, he isn’t a nice guy and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. I’m big on antagonists so, like I said, he’s one of my favorites but I’ll definitely admit he’s a big bastard most of the time.

Candy Corn – What book is always sweet? What book was a huge let down?

These types of questions are always hard for me because I generally enjoy whatever I read. Even if I don’t like a book as much as others, I still usually like it. However, I’ll go with Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz. I’ve mentioned this book a few times in some other posts. The plot wasn’t really all that bad but the characters were severely lacking. They were just so…’blah’ and I can’t stand a book if I don’t like any of the characters.

Ghost – What character would you like to visit you as a ghost?

6408523I’ll choose Reiko from the manga, Natsume’s Book of Friends by Yuki Midorikawa. Reiko is Natsume’s grandmother who went around beating up yokai and putting their names in the Book of Friends. She seems like a pretty badass character and although people treated her poorly due to her ability she still showed others kindness in her own way.

Wizards and Witches – What is your favorite Harry Potter moment?

Why would this be a question?!?! It’s so hard. At least for me. I love all the moments! Hmmm, I’d have to say that one of my favorites, however, is when Harry finds out that he’s a wizard. Cause how can that not be a favorite? I’ve always wanted something like that to happen to me so whenever I re-read that particular part I get so happy and so jealous at the same time! xD

Blood and Gore – What’s a book that was so creepy that you had to take a break from it for a little while?

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that was creepy enough for me to have to take a break from it. Now, a boring book, yes, but not a creepy one. I do agree with Emily on The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey though. It’s labeled as a YA novel but it was goooorey. But not so much to where I had to put it down because of it. I can read about gore – seeing it though, that’s a whole different story.

And that’s the tag! Thanks again, Emmy!

Happy reading! :)

100 Questions No One Ever Asks

100

So yeah, there are a bunch of other tags I need to complete, but Emily @ Embuhlee liest tagged me in this one the other day and I thought it would be an interesting one to do. It was fun and kind of random as well. So here’s a bunch of information about me that you could have lived without knowing. Whoo!

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Closed. I prefer not to stare into an open closet as I try to fall asleep.

Do you take the shampoo or conditioner bottles from hotels?
Not usually. I will if they smell really good though…

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
My sheets are usually tucked in at the foot of the bed but never on the sides. Although I’ll eventually kick enough that everything will come undone.

Have you ever stolen a street sign before?
Nope. I’ve never felt the need to have one in my possession.

Do you like to use post-it notes?
Yes, I do all the time at home. My memory is awful so I’m constantly writing things down. It makes me fear for myself when I’m older. @_@

Do you cut out coupons but never use them?
I usually don’t sit and cut out coupons. If I get one in the mail to a place I like I’ll set it aside. If I’m in the mood to shop I’ll use it but I’ve never been a major shopper so more than likely it’ll go to waste.

Would you rather be attacked by a bear or bees?
Ughhhhh, the bear. I feel like it would take longer to die from bee stings…unless you’re allergic. Which I’m not…or, at least I think not. I’ve never been stung before. I’ve been stung by wasps, but never bees. Either way, anything in a swarm freaks me out.

Do you have freckles?
Yup yup. Pretty much everywhere. Not tons, but dotted here and there.

Do you always smile for pictures?
Not always. I usually will when I’m a willing participant. If not, I am more than likely making a ‘derp’ face or glaring or not paying attention and staring into space.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
People invading my personal space. Especially people I don’t know.

Do you ever count your steps when you walk?
Not usually.

Have you ever peed in the woods?
Yup. When you go tent camping you kinda have to.

What about pooped in the woods?
Yup again. Not that people probably wanna know this…but again, tent camping=no bathrooms. So you’re welcome for that lovely bit of information that you could have lived without knowing.

Do you ever dance when there is no music playing?
Yes. Normally if others are joining in. I don’t dance on my own all that often.

Do you chew your pens and pencils?
Sometimes. Not as bad as some people, though.

How many people have you slept with this week?
Zero.

What size is your bed?
A queen. I got it last year and the space, man. I love it. I don’t think I could go back to a full. I’m a major bed hog.

What is your song of the week?
Recently I’ve had Ride by Twenty-One Pilots stuck in my head.

Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
Why wouldn’t it be?

Do you still watch cartoons?
Of  course. Especially of the Japanese variety.

What’s your least favorite movie?
Ummm, pretty much anything with Kristen Stewart in it. I really don’t care for her acting.

Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had any?
I’m with Emily. I wouldn’t bury it, I would put it in the bank. Since I’m a responsible adult and all.

What do you drink with dinner?
If I’m in the mood and it’s available, some sort of fruity alcoholic beverage would be my first choice. Preferably margaritas. If not, just water.

What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
Honey mustard. It is my favorite condiment. I have a weird obsession with it. Ask my friends.

What is your favorite food?
Gahhh, this is hard. Hmmm, I really enjoy Asian food. Lo mien is one of my favorites. Sushi is also really good…*drool*

What movies could you watch over and over again and still love?
The Lion King (most Disney movies, actually), Ice Age, all the Harry Potters, Matilda.

Last person you kissed/kissed you?
I just had lunch with my dad’s cousins and I kissed them on the cheek. Does that count?

Were you ever a boy/girl scout?
Yup. Back in elementary school. Then I quit after we went to Disneyland.

Would you ever strip or pose naked in a magazine?
I’m going to agree with Emily on this one. If I was being paid an enormous sum of money that I could use to help out family and friends then sure.

When was the last time you wrote a letter on paper?
Again, mine is similar to Emily’s answer. During Christmas Emmy and I do a cookie exchange and we write each other little notes as well. So, around Christmas time.

Can you change the oil on a car?
No. I mean, I know my way around under the hood of a car – the basics, anyway – but I’ve never actually changed the oil myself before. I’d imagine it wouldn’t be all that difficult though.

Ever got a speeding ticket?
“Not yet. Knock on wood.” <— What Emmy said.

Ever ran out of gas?
Nope.

Favorite kind of sandwich?
Probably thinly sliced honey ham and salami with provolone cheese, mayonnaise, honey mustard, lettuce, and onion. Although a hot chicken pesto comes close.

Best thing to eat for breakfast?
Blueberry muffins, eggs, hash browns, and bacon. Also, orange juice.

What is your usual bedtime?
If I’m really tired usually between 10-11pm. If I’m more awake I’ll stay up closer to midnight.

Are you lazy?
Oh yeah.

One of my more memorable costumes was the yellow peanut M&M. My brother was the red one and my sister was the green.

Monkey! This year is my year, woot!

How many languages can you speak?
Pretty much just one: English. A few basic sentences in Spanish, too.

Do you have any magazine subscriptions?
Nope. Never really been a big magazine person.

Which are better, LEGOs or Lincoln logs?
Legos. I enjoyed Lincoln Logs as well, but definitely preferred Legos.

Are you stubborn?
Most definitely.

Which is better Leno or Letterman?
Ughhh, don’t really watch either.

Ever watch soap operas?
Not really. A friend or two has tried to get me to start on Korean dramas but I have resisted. I already watch too many shows…

Are you afraid of heights?
Not really. I mean, looking straight down off a cliff is pretty intimidating, but I wouldn’t say I’m all that afraid.

Do you sing in the car?
Who doesn’t?

Do you sing in the shower?
I blast music but I normally don’t sing. I don’t know why I do in the car, but not in the shower…

Do you ever dance in the car?
Nah, usually just tap the steering wheel or my leg.

Ever used a gun?
Nope, but I wouldn’t mind tagging along with my brother or a few friends that occasionally go to the shooting range.

Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
Hmm, senior pics I believe, which took place during the summer between junior and senior year in high school…so 2009.

Do you think musicals are cheesy?
Yes.

Is Christmas stressful?
Nope, I generally enjoy the holidays. Might change as I get older, though.

Yush! So yummy~!

Favorite type of fruit pie?
Strawberry is usually my favorite, but I really enjoy lemon meringue too.

Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
Okay, so you know those metal things that you measure your feet with in shoe stores? Actually, I don’t think they’re as common anymore…but either way, I loved playing with them when I was younger so my first ever dream occupation was to work at a shoe store and measure peoples feet. Don’t judge me. I also wanted to be a chef at some point. And probably a dog, actually…

Do you believe in ghosts?
It’s more like I want to believe, but my skepticism prevents me from truly believing.

Ever had a deja-vu feeling?
Many times.

Take a vitamin daily?
My mom made me when I was younger. I stopped for awhile when I grew older but for the past couple years I’ve actually been eating the gummy vitamins for adults. They’re good. xD

Wear slippers?
I used to be a barefoot kind of person, but a couple years ago I began wearing slippers more. Although in the summer I’ll wear the ones that are pretty much just fluffy flip-flops.

Wear a bath robe?
Nope.

What do you wear to bed?
Pajamas. Normally a t-shirt and sweats, but when it gets hotter I’ll wear basketball shorts instead. Sometimes I’ll even go get a pair of boxers because they’re pretty much just like soft, comfy shorts for girls.

First concert?
The Black Eyed Peas.

Wal-Mart, Target or K-Mart?
Walmart. Yay, cheap stuff.

Nike or Adidas?
Sketchers. My feet are small and Sketchers have always fit me well.

Cheetos or Fritos?
Cheetos.

Peanuts or Sunflower seeds?
Peanuts.

Ever heard of the group Tres Bien?
Nope.

Ever take dance lessons?
No, nor did I ever want to. Although, I did try swing dancing with a friend not too long ago. It was kinda fun. I was awful, but everyone was nice there and didn’t point and laugh.

Is there a profession you picture your future spouse doing?
Not really.

No…

Nope again.

Regularly burn incense?
No, I prefer candles.

Who would you like to see in concert?
Well, I’ve seen Three Days Grace, Seether, and Avenged Sevenfold when I went to UFest back in…high school I think? But I would still like to go to their own individual concerts. Although I’m not too sure about Three Days Grace, since their leader singer changed. I would have preferred to go when they had their original, but if the opportunity came up I would probably still go see them anyway. I would like to see Breaking Benjamin as well, since they got back together. Fall Out Boy would be fun to see too.

Hot tea or cold tea?
No tea. Tea is icky.

Tea or coffee?
Coffee!

Sugar cookies or snickerdoodles?
Sugar cookies!

Can you swim well?
Sure.

Can you hold your breath without holding your nose?
Yup.

Are you patient?
Ehhh, depends on the situation.

DJ or band at a wedding?
DJ.

Ever won a contest?
Yes! Just recently I won a fancy blender from a raffle at work.

Ever had plastic surgery?
Nope.

Which are better, black or green olives?
Black. Even though they’re completely processed…I learned that at the Olive Mill we have where I live. But they taste so much better than the green ones…

Can you knit or crochet?
Nope, can barely sew.

Best place for a fireplace?
Actually, I would prefer a campfire out in the woods.

Do you want to get married?
Um, I’m not too sure. Maybe if I found the right person.

If married, how long have you been married?
Not married.

Who was your HS crush?
I didn’t really have a major crush on anyone in HS. But back in junior high I liked this kid with bright red hair. He was really funny. But as we got older I looked back and thought, why did I ever like this kid? He was a jerk. Or grew into one, I suppose.

Do you cry and throw a fit until you get your own way?
No, that would be my sister. I am the good child *smiles innocently*.

Do you have kids?
Nope.

Do you want kids?
This is still up in the air for me as well as marriage. Pregnancy kinda creeps me out. As of right now, if I ever did want kids I would probably look into adoption. But that may change as I grow older.

What’s your favorite color?
Don’t really have one. I like orange, but a lot of the times I prefer darker colors.

Do you miss anyone right now?
No, not really.

Would you rather live in a fictional world or the real world?
Fictional world.

Who is your favorite author?
Ugh, this is hard. I’m going to pass on this one.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Even though there’s a lot of crazy going on at the moment, I think I would still live where I do now, in the United States. Unless I suddenly became rich, then I would look into buying a remote island somewhere for me, my books, and a bunch of dogs.

And that’s that! If you thought this looked entertaining and would like to do your own, go ahead. I tag you! Otherwise, I hope you weren’t too bored while reading my answers.
