6782412So, for now I’ve decided to put the thirteenth and final book in The Hollows series by Kim Harrison, The Witch With No Name, on a hiatus. For some reason I’m just really not feeling it. I have no idea why. I’ve never had a problem with getting through any of the books in this series, but for whatever reason, my brain is just like no. I’ll try my best to get back to it soon. Otherwise I’ll forget everything…^^; Meanwhile, last night I started the second book in the Grisha trilogy, Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. This one just jumped right into the action and I’m loving it! Will read more tonight. I’m also reading another MxM romance, Warrior’s Cross by Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux.

What did I recently finish reading?

34447556I finished up both the second book in the Beautiful Monsters series, Sire, as well as the third, Broken. I stated last time that I fell quickly for this series and things haven’t changed. The fourth book doesn’t come out until sometime next year but I need it NOW NOW NOW. I don’t wanna wait…*pouts*. But I think the author is coming up with another series that’s based in the same universe and I believe that one comes out later this year. So I’m hoping that one will be just as good and will 10194157sate me until the fourth book releases. We shall see. I also finished up the first book in the Grisha trilogy, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I really enjoyed the first book and now I understand what all the hype was about. I love the world-building. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Alina at first, but overall I liked her as a character. She’s better than quite a few other female protagonists in YA novels. I’m already engrossed in the 33949887second book so I’ll probably be finishing up the series in the near future. I finished reading a new young adult MxM book that just came out in March as well, Noah’s Song by Jaclyn Osborn. This was a cute, quick read. It reminded me a lot of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Although this one had a twist where one of the main characters had a disability. I definitely got the feelings when reading this one. I also 30216256stumbled upon another MxM author and read two of their books, Peril and The Finder. I enjoyed both books and am planning on reading the authors third book as well, which is actually the first book they wrote. I liked Peril a little better than The Finder, but both had intriguing plots and entertaining characters.

What do I think I’ll read next?

14061957Next up, I’ll be continuing the Grisha trilogy with the third and final book, Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. I’ll probably also keep picking up random MxM books because that’s what my mood has been recently. Once again, I’m hoping to get back into The Witch With No Name as well.

My teaser:

The boy and the girl had once dreamed of ships, long ago, before they’d ever seen the True Sea. They were the vessels of stories, magic ships with masts hewn from sweet cedar and sails spun by maidens from thread of pure gold. Their crews were white mice who sang songs and scrubbed the decks with their pink tails.

I’m still plugging away at the thirteenth and final book in The Hollows series by Kim Harrison, The Witch With No Name. I’m not sure why this one is taking me so long to get through. I think my subconscious really doesn’t want this series to end. But I’ll get there, eventually. I also finally hopped on The Grisha bandwagon with the first book, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I just started it last night and I’m already halfway through. I’m really enjoying it and so far it’s definitely living up to all the hype. Can’t wait to keep on reading.

What did I recently finish reading?

23594461I’ve finished a few books since my last WWW post. I’ve definitely been in a MxM romance kind of mood, because all of the books I have finished recently fall into that category. I finished up The King’s Men by Nora Sakavic, the third and final book in the All for the Game series. This one was in my ‘currently reading’ spot last time. This was a fantastic series and by the end of it I was emotionally drained. There was so much depth to all of the characters. I’ve never been a big sports fan, but the way Sakavic writes has you feeling as if you’re one of the team and aching for the Foxes to win, win, win. And it’s not all about the sport. Many of the characters have a troubled past and just being along for the ride as they 7016638struggle with their own issues makes you emotionally invested fast. The romance bit comes a little later on. It’s not really a part of the plot until the third book, and even then it doesn’t play a large role in the series, but it definitely gave me the feels when it finally happened. Another book I completed was Shades of Gray by Brooke McKinley. This was a good, fairly quick read. I enjoyed both of the main characters, even if some of the things they did irritated me at times. There is definitely more fluff and feelings in this one, compared to the series mentioned above. This book also played with my emotions quite a bit, having me 30830592never know if things were really going to work out in the end or not. I also read  Captive by Jex Lane, the first book in the Beautiful Monsters series. I mentioned this one in my TT post yesterday. Like I said, I quickly fell in love with this series. This book centers around the ongoing war between vampires and incubi. Sure, vampires are a rather common topic, but I’ve hardly read anything that really focuses on incubi, which was one of the reasons this book drew my attention. Lane’s world-building is amazing and it’s hard not to fall for her characters. I adore Matthew, the main character. The action is fast-paced and bloody, the sex scenes are steamy, and the humor is spot on. I’ll remind people that this book is intended for mature audiences so steer clear if you’re not okay with strong violence and detailed sex scenes. But if you are, I highly recommend this series!

What do I think I’ll read next?

14061955After I finish Shadow and Bone, I’ll be continuing with the second book in the Grisha trilogy, Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. I pointed out in my last WWW post that I’d also like to keep plugging away at re-reading The Dresden Files. And the eighth book in the THIRDS series is still sitting in my Kindle App waiting to be read.

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of the books above? Let me know in the comments!

Happy reading! :)

Once again, my posting has been a bit…lagging, recently. Now that classes are done for the summer I’ll do my best to post more regularly! I really need to get some book tags done. However, I have been reading quite a bit. Right now I’m almost finished with the second book in the Beautiful Monsters series by Jex Lane, Sire. I stumbled upon this series last week and after reading the first book, Captivefell in love. This has quickly become one of my favorite MxM series. It is intended for mature audiences, so yes there is sexy time in these books as well as a good deal of violence, but the action, the characters, the overall plot – it’s all fantastic!

My teaser:

When Matthew opened the door to his underground room, club music assaulted his ears. Inside, Samantha danced to the beat and Devak moved right along with her.
They looked completely ridiculous, but neither of them seemed to give a shit. They were just enjoying the rhythm and moving their bodies along with the pounding unch, unch, unch.
