Pixar Book Tag

Hello everybody! I’m finally getting around to catching up with all the stuff I’ve been tagged in. There’s a lot of it…^^; This tag is an original created by my good friend Emily @ Embuhlee liest and her friend Shivii @ Shiviigoesrawr.

Toy StoryA book where you wanted the characters to come to life.

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)

I’m going to have to say the first book in The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, City of Bones. Yes, I know, they’ve made a movie for this book and now a TV series, but honestly I don’t think either has really done it justice. The movie was tolerable, and the TV show…well, if you read one of my previous posts you’ll know I didn’t even manage to make it through the first episode. I may try again…we’ll see. But I think this book has such a variety of different characters that it would be a blast if they came to life and I was able to spend some time with them. Especially Jace! ;D

A Bug’s LifeBig beautiful butterfly. Name a character that goes through a wonderful transformation or development arc.

Kitty Norville from Kitty and The Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn. If you read this series you’ll definitely know what I’m talking about. In the first book Kitty is a submissive werewolf that’s pretty much at the bottom of her pack and is constantly taken advantage of by her alpha. Honestly, she was rather annoying and pathetic. I didn’t know if I would continue with the series due to her being the main character. But, I read all fourteen books in the series, and that is due to the fact she quickly grows a backbone and becomes a likable character that knows what she wants in life.

Monster’s Inc –  Name a book where a strong or scary character develops a soft spot for someone else.

The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. Iorek Byrnison is an armored bear who everyone fears, but when Lyra steps into his life and shows him compassion, he steadily begins to take a liking to her. Their friendship and loyalty for each other grows throughout the story.

Finding NemoP. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney. Name a book that has an address or other quote within that’s been burned into your memory forever.

The Cupboard under the Stairs
4 Privet Drive
Little Whinging

Come on, we all know this one! xD

The IncrediblesName the coolest book family.

I’m going to have to copy Emily’s answer. The coolest book family is definitely the Weasley’s from Harry Potter. No argument.

Cars1,2 and now 3. Name a book that keeps getting sequels that you feel are not needed.

Okay, while I did enjoy the first four books in the Tiger’s Curse series, I do not believe a fifth one is needed. Like many people, I thought the series was over after the fourth one – it wrapped up nicely and everything! – but apparently a fifth one is happening and I have no idea how the author could possibly keep going. I guess I’ll find out whenever she decides to release it.

RatatouilleName a book whose main character is not a human nor a humanoid figure.

Into the Wild by Erin Hunter, the first book in the Warriors series. This was one of my favorite series when I was younger. I still haven’t finished it because there are so many books and they just keep on going. Although I’ve always been more of a dog person, this series that revolves around cats that live in Clans in the forest is a fantastic read that really works your imagination.

Wall-EName a book that made you feel lonely.

I’m going to go with Life of Pi by Yann Martel, because the whole book is about Pi being stranded out on a boat with only a few animals for company. I guess animals are better than no one, but even I – who is easily annoyed by other humans – would be craving human interaction after such a long time out at sea.

UpName a book whose characters you became very quickly emotionally invested in.

I’m really trying not to say Harry Potter, because I want to give other books a chance, but I’m going to go with Harry Potter anyways. Sorry other books.

BraveName a book with a strong mother/daughter relationship.

Ummm, I honestly can’t think of one for this spot. I’m really trying to…but I can’t. I’m looking through my Goodreads ‘read’ books and in most of the books the relationship between the main character and her mother isn’t that great or she doesn’t have a mother. There may be one or two that has a decent mother/son relationship but I can’t seem to find any good mother/daughter ones.

Inside OutName a book that you would say could be one of your core memories.

764354I will not pick Harry Potter for this section. Instead, I will pick the other book I talk a lot about, Storm Front by Jim Butcher, the first in the Dresden Files series. It was one of the first books that really got me into urban fantasy. I can’t wait for the sixteenth one to come out! :D

And that’s the tag! It was a fun one and I’m proud of you, Emmy, for making your own! And Emmy’s friend too of course! xD
